The International Symposium on Veterinary Medicine is a biennial professional-scientific event held by the Graduate Program in Veterinary Medicine of the Universidade Federal de Viçosa, Brazil. The main focus of the 2019 meeting is the role of One Health on the theme of bacterial resistance to antimicrobials and the rational use of antimicrobials in Veterinary Medicine. The meeting focus mainly on the following topics: a)What is the true relationship between antimicrobial use in animal production and human health? Are there alternatives?
