The One Health Contest, organized by the Research Center for Infectious Diseases (RCID) at International University – VNU-HCMC, is a science competition that aims to inspire and empower the next generation of biomedical and public health leaders.
The contest promotes awareness of the One Health concept—the interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health—among high school and university students. Through this initiative, RCID fosters scientific curiosity, creativity, and interdisciplinary collaboration to address current and emerging global health challenges.
The competition consists of three key rounds:
1. Abstract Submission and Evaluation – Participants submit research ideas or project abstracts related to human, animal, or environmental health.
2. Poster Preparation – Selected teams develop scientific posters that effectively communicate their ideas or findings.
3. Final Oral Presentation and Poster Session – Finalists present their work to a panel of experts through a 10-minute presentation and 5-minute Q&A. All posters are displayed during the conference’s poster session.
Beyond competition, the event serves as a platform for students to engage with researchers, educators, and professionals, fostering mentorship, dialogue, and collaboration. By nurturing scientific communication and research-oriented thinking, the One Health Contest contributes to capacity building in biomedical science and public health at both academic and community levels.
